About the Author

William Cane, the pen name of Michael Christian

William Cane is the pen name of bestselling author Michael Christian, a former trial attorney and award-winning playwright whose work has been praised by The New York Times as rivaling the Marx Brothers. He has directed more than a hundred stage shows, including his Off-Off Broadway musical Meet the Real Ernest Shackleton (2004). In 2024 he directed The Beat Generation and Crazy About You at the Producers Club in Manhattan. In 2025 and 2026 he directed his critically acclaimed drama Sartre and Simone, about Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir, at Theater for the New City. In 2026 he wrote and directed Wilhelm Reich Unleashed. His books have been translated into twenty languages and have sold more than a million copies worldwide.
